GIFTDWARF

Band info

What happens when primitive rocks collide? Well, mostly their follows a lot of noise, stones are flying around, fire-spitting holes are breaking through the ground, the devil looks out from under the earth, new rock formations are leaping and a complete new landscape emerges.

Something like that happened in 2008 when legendary German comedian Gerd Knebel (Badesalz, Flatsch), his long-time companion Olaf Mill (Flatsch, Nette Rabenväter, Türzueszieht) and Heavy Metal legend Uwe Lulis (Grave Digger, Rebellion) met for the first time and saw that they had a good raport with each other. This wire started to glow very fast and a firework of songwriting creatitivity started to burn for Uwe and Gerd and a new idea arose:

… a Heavy Metal band – or not? This formation is absolutly hard and heavy: Uwe’s merciless guitar riffs, pumping drums, a thrashing bass guitar and Gerd Knebel on vocals – that is why no head and leg will remain unmoved.  If then also intrumentes show up which are totally unexpected in this genre like mandolin, Bluesharp, Tenohorn or trumpets than Olaf Mill had definitly his finger in the pie to throw in some musical originality. With his cynic and humorous lyrics Gerd Knebel does a remainder to highlight GIFTDWARF in the bulk of Heavy Metal. The lyrics were originated as a colloboration by Gerd Knebel and the English songwriter Geraldine Blacker – English humour meets German humour – a fascinating mixture!

As of now you can wear not just black clothes and look evil but rather laugh lusty even in the Heavy Metal genre. Furthermore their concerts will proof that these four Gentlemen and the Lady can kid themselves. Two new musicians were quickly found: Gerd Lücking (Rebellion) is raging on the drums and on the bass guitar Natalie Eis stands her ground.

“Giftdwarf” will be released on March 4th on SAOL / H’Art / Zebralution.
