After the death of JANE singer, drummer and founding member Peter Panka in 2007, Werner Nadolny engages in the band successor. Under the name WERNER NADOLNY´S JANE he releases an album full of emotional songs which were created in memory of an unforgotten friend and which shows the way to a new future of JANE at the same time. It will be released in January 2009 and is entitled “Proceed With Memories...”

When JANE made their debut in Hannover on December 5, 1970 no one guessed that this formation would become one of the most successful and well-known rock acts in Germany. The melodic rock of JANE affected a part of the German rock music history.
The band was founded with the following members: Peter Panka, Werner Nadolny, Charly Maucher and Klaus Hess. Various reshuffles not only entailed new musicians for the band but also enriched the musical diversity.
Until today 16 studio albums as well as 3 live CDs were produced of which the “JANE Live” CD reached gold status. Good chart positions, not only in Germany, followed. In Switzerland JANE was #1 in the charts for weeks, ahead of the already very successful Pink Floyd. More than 2 million sold records and extensive tours throughout Europe and New Zealand clearly show the popularity of the band.

After the death of the most important and most influential member of the group, Peter Panka, his friend and co-musician for more than 30 years and founding member Werner decided to continue with the band as WERNER NADOLNY´S JANE according to Peter’s liking. The CD “Proceed With Memories…” which will be released in January 2009 is therefore his very personal farewell to his former companion.
As Nadolny was and still is the main composer of the band thanks to his music studies and also enriched the German Krautrock scene like few others with his compositions, Peter Panka’s legacy will be continued on a very high level. The singing voices on the new WERNER NADOLNY´S JANE album “Proceed With Memories…” belong to Jutta Weinhold and Geff Harrison who have been regulars in the scene for decades and also long lasting friends of Werner:
- Jutta Weinhold is the woman with perhaps the most powerful voice. In the 70s she was engaged for the musicals Hair and Jesus Christ Superstar. This was followed by performances with Amon Düül II and Udo Lindenberg, before forming her own bands Zed Yago, Velvet Viper and Weinhold.
- Geff Harrison’s career started in Germany in the early 70s with the legendary band Kin-Peh-Meh. In the meantime he has worked together with many well-known musicians and bands. The man with the raspy voice has written hundreds of songs, amongst others the #1 hit “Eve Of Destruction” as well as the overture and title song of the musical “Yesterday”.

Nowadays, WERNER NADOLNY´S JANE are a matured rock band, and with a modern sound and an up-to-date show they tie in with their previous success without losing sight of the 70s. The new CD “Proceed With Memories…” clearly shows their enthusiasm and their earthy directness without denying their background. The guys from Hannover offer a broad spectrum of good German Rock music ranging from sensible ballads to melancholic rock anthems.
